Blue skies, arctic frost, snow geese migration. Another Kent County winter, a bit more isolating in this time of COVID. They’re saying we might have 11″ of snow this weekend. But we are happy to report that the next groups of broilers and hens came home from the hatchery in Lancaster County yesterday, the early shoots from the spring garlic are peeking up at us from the frozen ground, and the new seedlings (butterhead lettuces, kale, chard, scallions, shallots, herbs, leeks) have germinated in the greenhouse. This week we hope to start some tomato, pepper and eggplant seedlings. We will have a bunch of new produce items this year – stay tuned.
